Notes:

"David the King" is the 49th episode from The Superbook Club (or simply Superbook as it's now referred to). This original iteration of Superbook was a Christian-themed anime that aired on both TV Tokyo in Japan and the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) in the United States from October 1, 1981 to September 26, 1983.

I'm not familiar with anything about this series considering I'm not a religious person and the show itself being obscure as well. I did some research into it and apparently CBN (which solely exists through their website nowadays if you don't count their unwanted presence on Freeform with contractually mandatory airings of The 700 Club) still produces a rebooted version of the series today. Regardless of the religious tone, the show looks like any other low-budget anime from the late '70s and early '80s. It's not awful-looking, but it's not great either. The show also features obnoxious intermissions with a very strange woman talking to children about the story of the episode. It's not something I'd ever like to watch again.

Embedded are some pretty generic commercials that aired on CBN Cable Network during this broadcast of The Superbook Club. While the ads aren't too-too fascinating, I really love CBN's branding at this time. It's so futuristic yet so primitive. Two DTMF tones also play throughout the commercials.
